Hello all,
We ran some tests with different ctrlC X3 Cores. Here we measured the boot-up time.
crtlX Core Runtime 1.20. 1 drive connected :
Total: 3 min and 1 sec.
For some customers this time is too long. Are there ways to speed up this action, or does the X7 start up faster? ?

Hello,
I confirm this feedback where more than 3 minutes (really more ...) is a problem for some customer!.
thanks.

Hello,
I also did some tests but with less amount of apps (about 5) and the starting time on 1.20 firmware was above 2mins. As you said, we also have got some complains about long boot-up time and we are also interested in possible speeding-up this proccess...

We are following this topic internally but the standard bootup time from my experience currently is 2 - 2:30min. Please keep in mind that the ctrlX CORE is not only a PLC but a complete IPC that needs some time to boot up.

I know the ctrlX Core has some more than only a PLC. We did several timig test ( with several hardware and software) and about 3 minutes is the average. Still my question is open: will the X7 do the bootup faster?

I have also received complaints from potential customers about the boot-up time of the core X3. We also setup a system using 3 instancesof WebIQ runtimes, and found that the boot-up time was extended even further, closer to 5 minutes.
Whether this is really an issue in the field I sort of doubt, as highly automated equipment often takes long periods of time to recover. What I can say for sure is for a simple machine, taking 2-3 minutes to boot up and operate is definitely not ideal.

I also encountered the same problem, the customer Siemens (S7-1500) started quickly, and ctrlx took 3 minutes.
The customer is using 40 of our CTRLX and is very troubled by slow startup.

@CodeShepherd is there any update regarding this issue with X3 with 2.6 firmware? A big OEM customer of us is also complaining about this.

I've made a quick test with a core X3 and version 2.6.1 and two drives (doubleaxis). Installed apps: Ethercat, Motion, OPC-UA, PLC, 3D-Viewer, WebIQ.
I think it is worth if you made a test with your settings and the version 2.6... (now available at the collaboration room)
