Is there a limitation on how many axes can the Softmotion handle?

Hello,

I was wondering if there is a limitation on how many axes can I handle with the Softmotion installed in the ctrlX?

As far as I am concerned the Softmotion CNC can handle 4 axes??? So I do not know if the Softmotion has a limitation too,

Hei

The limitation is the export version.

That meas you can interpolated only 4 axis at the same time.

This is the limitation for each kineamtics.

But you can have more than one kinematics

Thank you for your answer but I am refering to how many axes can handle the Standard Softmotion Package, not the Softmotion CNC,

However thanks for the clarification in regard to the 4 axes of the CNC,

Hello,

CODESYS Softmaotion does not have any restrictions regarding the number of the axis The limitation is caused by the cpu load of the controller (e.g. our ctrlX CORE). And this depends on the ctrlX CORE hardware (X3/X7/...) itself, the apps running in parallel, is multicore activated  and the configured task cycle time.

I am using a ctrlX Core X7 with version 2.6, Softmotion 4.15 and ctrlX package 1.20 and it seems that there is a limitation on how many axes the Softmotion can handle...

Has anything changed between the versions?

This is important as I though that there was not a limitation but it seems that there is...

Hello

In Version 2.xx CODESYS change the licence model to pay per number of axis.

That means you have to reorder additional axle licenses.
