In addition:
I insist to use the marketing conformant name of that technology: ctrlX SAFETY link
SafeLink is a brand of Bihl+Wiedemann for their proprietary interlink of their SafetyMonitor controls and shall not be mixed up with Bosch Rexroth's product features.
ctrlX SAFETY link has a different name as the former zone bus, because it is essentially different:
It is a two wire, UART-based ring communication completely different to IndraDrive's zone bus.
The master functionality is inside SAFEX-C.1x and not in the last drive.
The protocol is open for future extensions as individual signals from the connected slave axes.
At the moment we can support 16 axes at a cycle time of 1 ms.
Zone bus and HSZ01 is no safety control solution on top of the IndraDrive, as some might think, but only a common Safe-IO extension of the link logic inside the SMO of IndraDrive.
In common between ctrlX SAFETY link and zone bus:
We are using the same cables RKB0061 and RKB0062.
The plug and play functionality is the same (no configuration, independence of the number of axes connected as a default)
Principle 16 Bit sent from master to all slaves in a conform (broadcast) way, 2 signals back ACK and ERR per axis, brought as SZ_ACK and SZ_ERR to the application interface at the SAFEX-C.1x.
Hope this helps to understand the difference.
Best regards
Your ctrlX SAFETY team
