LumiScan Calibration is an application that improves the accuracy of position and orientation information for objects found in the scene by scanning a mapping provided as a TIFF file. Simply said, LumiScan Calibration is used to transform the image coordinates into real-world coordinates. This enables the use of cameras in combination with robots for bin picking and object placement tasks. LumiScan Calibration is installed from the App Store and configured via a settings file. It runs on ctrlX OS devices like ctrlX CORE and the user interface is ctrlX Data Layer.
The communication process in the application is based on the concept of a handshake, which allows greater flexibility in negotiating parameters that are acceptable to devices and systems at both ends of the communication channel.
Features
Setup and control via ctrlX Data Layer
Converts a point on a 2D image to a 3D point on a calibrated plane
The settings configuration can be edited with built-in website.
ctrlX OS Homepage To use LumiScan Calibration, you must upload calibrated data as a TIFF file. Optionally, if you want to use your own settings, an application configuration upload is also possible.
Both can be done with WebDAV.

The Company
HD Vision Systems supports manufacturing companies in all aspects of Machine Vision. With its unique light field-based technology, their systems offer customers fast and easy access to automation: the light field makes it possible to reliably detect complex and shiny surfaces or fibre composites. The flexible systems consisting of sensor and software are also highly adaptable for small quantities. Each vision solution from HD Vision Systems is supplied together with a vision controller mounted on the edge. The system can then be used flexibly for various applications: In addition to generating high-precision RGB-D point clouds of detected objects and object recognition, they also provide accurate object localization and inspection.
