communication interface change

Hello, If I want to change the communication interface in the ctrlx drive, it works the same as the indradrive? Or it is fixed at the order?

As in the past the multi-Ethernet hardware, named "ET" in the type code, allows to switch-over in between

- sercos
- EtherCAT (SoE)
- EtherCAT (CoE) (presumably available by the end of year 2022)
- PROFINET (IO) (available by April 2022)
- no active communication (like analog or IO (parallel) interface)

by simply changing parameter P-0-4089.0.1 (Master communication: Protocol).

Mind that parameter P-0-4084 (Application: Profile type) needs to be set correct as well accordingly.

If we order a ctrlX drive now with ethercat, and  later on we want to change to profinet (which is not available at the moment), is it just an fwa update on the drive?

Yes, it is just a firmware/runtime update. Mind that for prototyping PROFINET is already available now.

we have updated the XMS2 to runtime 03V08,  Is Profinet supposed to be part of this release ?
