a parameter for dc power control word to power on a slave drive using digital IO

a parameter for dc power control word to power on a slave drive using digital IO

I am setting up a 4 axes demo with a XCD and a XMD. I did follow the document of Suitable Power ON/OFF ctrlX Drive and the parameters listed in the document are outdated for ctrlX WORKS WRK-V-0112.7.  I figured out the parameters for XCD after having tried and errored. here is what I found for XCD.

however when I worked on the slave side(XMD) the manual shows using bit 0 of S240, but it doesn't work. I checked the parameters from the pull-down list and non of the similar ones worked. S240 showed 1 in the bit0.

I can get the XCD into AB through a power on/off switch, but not XMD. here is the error message I got when I switched the drive from PM to OM.

please advise the correct parameter for DC power control word on the slaves, or if I have missed some settings somewhere else. or tell me what is a correct way to switch the slave into AB using digital I/O to power on the slave drives.

Thanks,

On a XMD double axis drive you need to do that only for the first axis, not for the second.

I found out why the error message popped up when switching the slave drives from PM to OM. I had the S240 configured in the process data in ctrlX I/O engineering, which I had tested the power on by using PLC program.

when using digital I/O to turn the power the parameters for power handling can't be assigned in the process data. the bus communication overwrites the parameters in the slave drives.

that was good to have a chance to learn that. now all of the axes are up running. by the way the second axis of XMD double axis drive needs the S240 assigned to a digital input to be able to turn the axis from BB to AB.
