Safex C15 Failure 3658

Safex C15 Failure 3658

Hi,

I'm having trouble with getting my controller into Run. After the selfCheck it goes into error.  The two channels are programmed for Pn switching. Connected to the pn output is a Festo CTEU-EC to pin 2 and 4. What does this 'Dynamic test Watchdog' mean?

To make it more clear

You use the XG34 outputs 5/6 to switch a Festo Ethercat station to safe state. So normal operation or safe state where all valves are switched off. Question is why we get an Error. The outputs of the SafeX C15 (PN-Switch) control the valve voltage for the Festo module.

If in safe state, the voltage is switched off. (and the valves cannot act). The SafeX outputs are 2 Amps and that should be enough.

Maybe the SafeX specialist can say something about the XG34 outputs and if they can used for this without getting the error.

Where can we find more information or explanation about the failure 3658

Can you change for this task to the Relais-outputs instead of XG34. I hope they are free for using. In the meantime I try to find out more about this error message. But I don`t have a Festo CTEU-EC.

What does the 'Dynamic test Watchdog' mean. And how does pn switching work?

I think there is no more "pressure" on this topic while (as far as I know) the setup is changed.

Maybe its still good to know what the "Dynamic test watchdog" means.

Beside of that if you have troubles with pneumatic valves its good to check the next settings:

But it all depends on the application you have.

To deactivate the pulses select the Sil Level on Sil_2

Then you can adjust the OSSD mode in the connected output

Hello @KomEa ,

Dynamic testing is checking the OSSD test pulses. The output circuitry checks continuously the output signal. If the OSSD pulses cannot be read back in the expected way (e.g. due to the external circuitry, capacitive and inductive load suppressing the pulse pattern) the control creates a failure and can only be reactivated by POR.

The message indicates that the output wiring could be out of specification.

Static testing is checking the voltage level read back from the outputs. E.g. if you connect a 24V source to the outputs to "override" the output behaviour the controller will go into safe mode and switch off all the outputs.

p-n-Switching means that your actuator is connectd to two output pins (a p-n-pair).

  • The p-Pole is connected to the 24V-pin of that output pair
  • where the n-Pole is connected to th GND-pin of that output pair.

Consequently this creates a two-channel output, e.g. for a valve or a door-lock.

HTH, if it helped please mark the related replies as "Solution". Thank you!

Please use the Bosch Rexroth names (e.g. SAFEX-C.15) to make sure that the right things are addressed!

Hello @Pinball_NL and @KomEa ,

Since there are no more replies to the answers I am setting these answers to be the "solution".

In my eyes the solution is to use two subsequent pins of the 2.0 A outputs in the configuration "p-n-switching" as a pair of connected p- and n-poles to switch the load voltage of the Festo manifold on the plus & on the ground side and on demand swich off the peripheral voltage in a two-channel way.

  • The dynamic test Watchdog deals with test pulses that cannot be detected in the expected way.
  • The resulting reaction as fatal error (F 3657 / F 3658) is used, since the safety control cannot detect whether the problem is created by the external wiring or by the hardware of the SAFEX-C.1x itself.
