Storing data retentively

From the operator's point of view, we need the functionality that entered parameters are restored after switching the machine or the PLC off and on again.

What options are there for storing data retentively on the PLC? Is there a preferred procedure here from Rexroth?
Is buffering of the PLC with a UPS necessary or sensible?

At the PLC this variable option is named RETAIN. Please check the help description.

Thanks for the answer. What about using a UPS. Is this neccessary in any case in combination with the ctrlX Core?

For the current hardware it is not necessary to use an UPS to store the PLC retain data.
