Ethercad slave do not go to OP state because an SDO error

Ethercad slave do not go to OP state because an SDO error

Established Member

My ethercad master do not go to OP-state because the device _9251_ethercad_Drive and  device _9251_ethercad_brake do not can go to Safe-OP.

Henderickx_1-1691657855086.png

(this due to the option: Slave have to reach the master state. ) if this option is off then the master go to OP. but my slave device _9251_ethercad_Drive and  device _9251_ethercad_brake still stand in PRE-OP.

At the diagnostics of the master i see the follow message:

Henderickx_2-1691657905396.png

As PDO: the follow content is assignt:

Henderickx_3-1691658095405.png

Henderickx_4-1691658140669.png

at the attachement the XML file from the supplier of the device.

Hello,

I had a similar issue when I had turned on the AoE option (under expert settings). It may be worth a try to disable this.

Hi,

I try to test the Master enable, but without succes.

in addition i have recieved the following answer for the question from my supplier:

Henderickx_0-1692345259900.png

As our engineering tool is using the data provided by the .XML file and we do not have any hardware to test, its quite hard to say what should be wrong here.

To be sure we are talking about "burster 9251 Fieldbus Controller" module right (external supplier page).

Did you ask the supplier if the data used is correct:

ctrlX IO Engineering - 9251 EtherCat slave datactrlX IO Engineering - 9251 EtherCat slave data

Could you give me the contact of the supplier so we can have a direct talk about that? Feel free to send me a private message.

Please also send us the IO project used and describe your application.

Hi,

Here my archive IO project.

may be also important: by scan for devices there is no difference:

Henderickx_0-1692361672923.png

When enable: slave have reach the master state" :

Henderickx_1-1692361713814.png

the diagnostic give next error:

Henderickx_2-1692361776737.png

When Disable: slave have reach the master state" is:

i get the next error:

Henderickx_3-1692361832284.png

We will check this.

Could you please:

  • confirm device type "burster 9251 Fieldbus Controller"
  • add a system report (See in online documentation)
    • at least confirm ctrlX Core system version 1.18 and EtherCat master version

Installed apps en version:

2x burster 9251 field controller next to eachother.

Henderickx_1-1692368196055.png

in the attachement the system report.

Could you please switch on the traces of the Ethercat master via the data layer (trace/rexroth-automationcore/units/comm/ethercat), create the problem and export the logbook again?

ctrlX CORE web UI - data layer viewer - Ethercat master tracesctrlX CORE web UI - data layer viewer - Ethercat master traces

Dear,

Here the new logbook export.

Regards,

Thanks to your information we could figure out whats the matter:

Like the error says and also the device supplier says targets 0x1C12 and probably also 0x1C13 are written but read only.

There is a setting in the "Expert Process Data" in our ctrlX IO Engineering that tells the master to do so:

ctrlX IO Engineering - PDO assignment in expert process datactrlX IO Engineering - PDO assignment in expert process data

In fact these settings are predefined as active in the device description file provided by you. So it seems to be a predefinition fault in the ESI file. Could you please get in contact with you supplier to clarify this?

As workaround as long as there is no correct file:

  • Deselect the check box "PDO Assignment" --> download new configuration --> test if it working
  • If there are still errors deselect "PDO Configuration" --> download new configuration --> and try again

Dear,

When deselect the "PDO Assignment" and select "PDO Configuration" i still get the errot message:

Just to be sure, after changing the setting you did another download of the EtherCat configuration and tried to switch up again? I will get in contact with our R&D.

With assignment and with configuration on, then download, and powercycle this is the result:

Thanks again for the clarification I had another talk to our R&D and we see that ESI file seems not to fit to your device connected to the EtherCat master.

UPDATE: Supplier sent a new device descrption file that should be tested. @Henderickx waiting for your feedback.

Dear,

The reaction of Burster:  "The main problem is, that the Bosch PLC does not support the online reading of the device configuration and the Bosch PLC does not support to load a TwinCAT configuration file."

I recieved the new XML file from them but still without succes.

I sent then the follow screen shots from the errors depending on the state of :  "Slave has to reach master state "

Henderickx_2-1693305549191.png

Could you please add the new device description file?

Here by the XML file.

This topic has been resolved by creating the fitting XML file on customer side directly.
