Hi, I would like to know if there is any way to change the datatype of AO-4 module from "INT" to "REAL" datatype? I would prefer to have my output signal here to have decimal values in between rather than variation between whole numbers. (For e.g. From multimeter, 2V jumps straight to 3V, doesnt have any value in between)

Could you please determine a little bit more what you are doing and using?
So i guess you are using the XI412204 (ctrlX I/O Analog Output Terminal 4-channel, 0-10 V). Mentioned In the manual you can find which sent numbers via the fieldbus will result in which output voltage:
"The process data (output signals) are transmitted as normalized mV values in the format "signed int 16"."
10000 => 10 V 100%
0 => 0 V 0%

Because im using analog sensor with PID function to reduce the output value from the AO(slowing down the speed) . So meaning to say if its in INT datatype, it only varies between INT numbers(neglecting the decimal values in between) . And the slow down process might not be smooth in this case.

The actual limit, as mentioned above, is 1mV steps. This cannot be decreased.
For example:
value => output
1 => 0,001V
10 => 0,010V
1000 => 1,000V
2000 => 2,000V
3542 => 3,542V
