The client wants to install a Heidenhain encoder - ST3088
What supply voltage should be 12vdc or 5vdc
and what connection does it have in the controlX drive- encoder EC?

• chap. 9.3.12 Multi-encoder interface EC (XG21) indicates hardware, pin assignment etc..
• chap. 11.5 for signal specifications etc..
• chap. 13.1 for connector type

The EC interface provides +5 V and +12 V DC supply voltage, your choice. The connector is a standard 15pin DSUB with sockets, so the encoder should either have the corresponding counterpart with pins or you use our DSUB connector type RGS0010/CUB1 R911379695 (order from your Rexroth sales representative).

The housing of this connector is metallized and provides basic shielding, so when assembling with a 3rd-party cable, make sure the cable shield is attached properly.
