We have a mixed system of servos and motors and are attempting to use the CtrlX package to take advantage of inverter/converter combo and the small footprint.
I'm hoping to learn how to set up the drives to be controlled with the control word and a speed reference instead of the motion axis controls.
I've got the drives online with asynchronous messaging that seems to work, but not all the paramters seem to be accesssible.
Do the drives need special configuration to allow access to alternate process data configurations?
What else would i need to configure to run them as a basic VFD for the 3phase motors?
Can i run the servo with a velocity control command instead of a motion control axis with a real time position command?

Yes, in principle this is possible. Get in touch with your local sales or support team to sort out what to do exactly in your application.

just as an information: With release V1.14 (available since March 2022) you can use motion control (ctrlX CORE with ctrlX MOTION) and use velocity control to the ctrlX DRIVE.
