ctrlX Core as EtherCAT Master and Slave at the same time

Hello,

Is it possible that ctrlX Core (any version) could be an EtherCAT Master (for Frequency Converters and Pumps) and an EtherCAT Slave for some other Master Controller at one time?

Hi Filip_K,

this is not yet possible, ctrlX CORE can only be a EtherCAT Master at the moment.
Maybe you have other options to solve your task, like OPCUA, or Profinet Device?

i have the same demand from customer who has B&R PLC : he wants us to be ethercat slave.

is it still not possible ?

The ctrlX OS EtherCat master in a ctrlX CORE still cannot be EtherCat slave.

You could use an EtherCat master to master gateway or try using a soft EtherCat master e.g. PLC based. But both is not available as Rexroth product.

I would also recommend to use another ethernet based bus protocol like OPC UA.
