Update and setup via SD card

Can I use the procedure for update and setup via SD card described here:

to update CPU running with rm21_11 to rm23_03?

Yes, this is the easiest way but it will erase all your current settings including users. If you do not want this you can update through the GUI but must follow the order as documented in the releasenotes

As mentioned in the how to and you can see in your ctrlX CORE with apps version 1.12 (RM21/11), for the setup mechanism minimum version 1.20 is needed.

So you can do an image update but creating a setup is not possible. On the old version. Also Backup/Restore between different version is quite not working in that state.
What could be used is exporting your active configuration (app data) and import them after updating. Beware that there could be some incompatibilities. See e.g. topic "Motion app hangs in Configuration/Running after booting"

I am looking for a remote offline solution and unfortunately the configuration approach doesn’t work for me. I saw the statement in the how-to, but hoped that after the system image is replaced with the 1.20 version on the old Core, the setup (created on a 1.20 source) can be applied automatically after reboot from the SC card, because the old Core has then 1.20 already.
