We are actually working on improving this function for the next release and long term service version 1.20 coming up for testing end of March.
Currently (version 1.12) the way would be:
- Set up ctrlX CORE to full functionality
- Create and download backup of the application apps via "Backup/Restore" mechanism
- Set up new control hardware to the same base image (system app) version
- Restore backup of the application apps via "Backup/Restore" mechanism
- Add license for needed apps
- Check system settings and full functionality
In future (from 1.20) it will be:
- Set up ctrlX CORE to full functionality
- Make backup via "Setup" mechanism (data of apps stored in configuration are included, app private files are not)
- Set up new control to the same base image (system app) version
- or use a USB stick/µSD card including base image, "Setup" file (go to step 5)
- or change the "Setup file" to your needed version/settings
- Restore backup via "Setup" mechanism (including app data, application apps, system settings)
- Add license for needed apps (only required if not manually added to the "Setup" file)
- Check full functionality
