Is there any specification on memory allocation to the datalayer? How does this translate to number of tags etc.?
For example, if I was to provide 1000000 tags on the datalayer... at what point would I see limitations?

As the data layer does not own/hold the data but the providing app does, allocation is done by the provider.
There is no software restriction of number of nodes but the the size of the memory (RAM) surely is.
