EtherNet/IP Max Connections

The CODESYS documentation suggests there are no limits on the number of connections for the ENIP connections with the CODESYS add-ons. I suspect the reality is that there are limits based on the RPI, processor and application requirements. 

Is there any benchmarking with the ctrlX core hardware to better understand the limits?

As the number of slaves connected are influencing the runtime of then PLC softstack indeed unlimited is not quite correct and depending on the hardware used. 

The only benchmark I know are made with the CODESYS Profinet Controller soft stack on a ctrlX CORE X3 and is pointing out that 10 slaves are running fine but more will cause increased PLC cyclce times and can cause troubles.

@CodeShepherd, do you know the amount of data and rate in that application?

When I have it correct on my mind it was 4 parameter in and out each drive and cycle time in the PLC was 10 ms.
