Codesys SoftMotion and encoder axis

Hello, 

For an application, we need to synchronize 3 axis on an external encoder, So I want to know is it possible to connect an encoder on the ctrlx Drive Second card, and use it an encoder Axis ? 

if not possible, is there other ways to do that with Softmotion and ctrlx Core (Ethercat Encoder ?..etc ).

Hello Yacine,

The measuring encoder axis feature is not available in RM 23.03.

When it will be available in the future you will need to ask for the Productivity package function of the CtrlX Drive.

Please colleagues correct me if I'm wrong.

If you want to do the whole thing with an Indradrive it works with Softmotion.
Simply add a SMC_FreeEncoder under Softmotion.

And then set the parameter S-0-0053 to the value
<FREE_ENCODER_AXIS>.diEncoderPosition :=value of object S-0-053 map

Then you can use the external encoder like a measuring encoder in the PLC program
