Get ctrlX DRIVE Project planning manual edition 12, either from the Rexroth Media Directory or directly here from our public online manual pages: https://docs.automation.boschrexroth.com/iirds/cdp-metadata.boschrexroth.de~iiDC~Product-ctrlX-DRIVE/ chap. 9.3.12 Multi-encoder interface EC (XG21) indicates hardware, pin assignment etc.. chap. 11.5 for signal specifications etc.. chap. 13.1 for connector type The EC interface provides +5 V and +12 V DC supply voltage, your choice. The connector is a standard 15pin DSUB with sockets, so the encoder should either have the corresponding counterpart with pins or you use our DSUB connector type RGS0010/CUB1 R911379695 (order from your Rexroth sales representative). The housing of this connector is metallized and provides basic shielding, so when assembling with a 3rd-party cable, make sure the cable shield is attached properly. For other questions on functions, parameterization etc.. please consult the documentation of your runtime version through the online platform linked above.

For such drive & control type of equipment one cannot seriously define a "tolerance range" for the transient voltage spikes on your customer's mains supply. Such surge voltages are basically a threat to all electrical equipment in that factory and will cause more rapid ageing and sooner or later -or instantly- damage the equipment. Which is then of course not covered by any product warranty. So the question should not be, how much suffering the devices might be able to bear, but how to prevent and take control of such problems and thus keep up availability of the production equipment. Common practice would e.g. be to install transient surge protection devices (SPD), which are available as standard catalog products from all major manufacturers.

Its just for enabling the axis. Normally the axis stays enabled. The holding brake will only be in charge when the machine is in Ab. Beside that there is an external construction preventing the load to fall in case of an unforseen accident. We are aware of that. And beside that there is the brake check functionality to check the brake holding capacity.
