Every app have his own functionality and communicate externally with a defined interface. For the Rexroth / company specific apps it’s our target to minimize any interface changes. In the beginning (prototype phase) it might be necessary to make modification at this interfaces. But as soon we reach the release state we hope to avoid this. Means all apps we provide (functional and system apps) should work together also with different version. The behavior of third party apps is not in our hand. But I hope the compatibility in every developer mind.

I've had the same problem before,but I've learned from experience that when I use Ethernet,I check the IP address first.It's become a habit!

This "global" error reset (see attached screenshot of /automation/overview ) is with data_layer or PLC not possible, or ? I still cannot find. I have just the possiibilty with Axis-Reset and Kinematic-Reset. More not. Is this right ?

Thanks Jochen, that did work. It didn't work when I tried it previously, but now I realize I was using an old instance of the virtual control. When I made a fresh virtual instance in 20.07, the .app files installed without problem. Best regards, Brian

At the moment an user with access to the datalayer has full access. But we are working on a app or even variable based separation. Also for read and write. At the moment I do not know a release date for this feature.
