Access environment variables from the PLC runtime

how can I access environment variables from the PLC runtime?

For example, I want to use $SNAP_DATA or $SNAP_COMMON variables to access the snap directory.

Sorry for the late reply, got out of track somehow. I will check this.

At the moment it is not possible to use system variables in the PLC. Please beware that a snap in the system (like PLC runtime) is not allowed to interact with other folder or files outside of its own path area.

The root folder of the PLC can be seen inside of the PLC engineering:

These folder structure is part of the active configuration (app data):
