S20 Buscoupler EtherCAT configured in DC-Synchronous

Hello everybody,

I am trying to configure an S20 EtherCAT buscoupler as DC-Synchronous on a ctrlX Core as in the image:

When I download the configuration the EtherCAT Master (the ctrlX Core) goes in OP mode while the EtherCAT slave (the Buscoupler) remains in Pre-OP mode with the error "0x0028: SynchMode not supported" as the image:

Why this happens? I would experct that if the DC-Synchronous mode is selectable (it cames from the ESI-file) the DC Mode is supported.

Am I missing something or some configurations?

Hello Andrea Toffalori,

it's because none of the used modules is supporting sync. It will work when you plug a module which supports sync, like S20-AO-4 or S20-INC-2.

do you know all the modules that support the DC synch mode? Or do you have to look at the Data Sheet of every single I/O module?
