Is the STO selection via Safety Link also possible without SafeMotion Drive (STO Only!) ?
This could be interesting for every ctrlX Safety + ctrlX Drive (STO) customer...

ctrlX SAFETY Link uses the ctrlX DRIVE PLUS & SafeMotion hardware, since the communication needs a safe processing. This is not possible with ctrlX DRIVE SafeTorqueOff. The selection of SafeTorqueOff in ctrlX DRIVE Level 1 is possible by the safe digital outputs of ctrlX SAFETY SafeLogic (SAFEX-C). The 0.5 A safe outputs should be sufficient for the selection of STO.

Another interesting solution for "STO customers" could be the encoderless parameterization of the ctrlX DRIVE SafeMotion.
With this solution, the STO function is selected via a safe communication (SAFETY link or safe fieldbus (e.g. FSoE)) at the M5 hardware option inside the ctrlX DRIVE. The M5 hardware option has already included the "SafeMotion Speed" function package inside, so no additional costs for the SafeMotion "Speed" function package are payable! And a safety-certified encoder is also not necessary for this solution!
Added value for our "STO customers":
Not only Safe Torque Off (STO) is than available as safety function, also SafeStop 1-t (SS1-t), the time-monitored deceleration to standstill 😉
