Hello dear team members,
Do we have a quick step by step manual on how to update the Core Runtime environment? I could not install the latest PLC/Motion apps (v1.12) due to the fact I still have a CtrlX Core with the following system apps:
Automation Core - 1.8.1
core - 16-2.48.2.1 (Basic automation functionalities)
core18 - 20210128 (Runtime environment based on Ubuntu 18.04)
Device Admin - 1.8.3 (XCR-rexroth-deviceadmin-V-0108.3) Device management services
Hardware Support - 1.8.3 (Hardware specific components)
Realtime Kernel - 4.19.173-rt72-icx36 (Realtime Linux Kernel)
snapd - 2.48.2.1 (Daemon and tooling that enable snap packages)
Solutions - 1.8.1 (XCR-rexroth-solutions-V-0108.1) Manage app configurations
Version Guard - 1.8.0 (Ensures system app compatibility)
Any help or instruction is very much appreciated! 🙂

Hello
Because the partition layout of Ubuntu Core 20 has changed, the version update to V1.12 has to be conducted using the image update mechanism of the ctrlX CORE via micro SD card.
In the Collaboration Room (path: ctrlX_CORE_APPS/All-Apps-In-One-File/RM21.11 - V 1.12) you can find the SystemImage and a Guideline on how to perform the update in the Release Notes.
Be aware that with V1.12 Licensing comes into play. Therefore see Quick Start Guide Licensing Center.
Best regards
Nick
