Management of ctrlX CORE Data Layer access from competing apps

How does the access onto ctrlX Data Layer look like for competing apps? Is there some kind of protection of data beeing read by e.g. PLC app when at the same time another application changes this data on the data layer?

Hi, 

The non-realtime Data Layer (NRT) access is not blocking between different clients. For detials abot the Data Layer NRT you can take a look into this section of the manual. 

For RT Data it depends on the type of memory range you want to use. See this section on the different kind of RT Data Layer Memory ranges.
