Hi,
I'm moving my brewery/fermentation control to ctrlx and I'm not sure if I should stay on 1.20 or go for 2.04.
This is a personal automation project so it isn't a customers production system 🙂
I use the following apps: PLC (got the upgraded licenses needed for V2), Nodered, IoT dashboard, modebustcp, EtherCAT, influxdb, python, OPC UA server and telegraf. I use WAGO EtherCAT and modbus couplers + I/O.
So, should I start on a fresh 1.20 install or a fresh 2.04 install?

See general information about software life cycle "Release cycle of apps and engineering software".
The version 1.20 is free for sales and has long term support for several years. 2.04 is an early adopter version and support will run out end of March.
If you are starting right now and there is no reason as missing features I suggest to stay on 1.20. If there is some time you can wait, end of March version 2.06 will release that will also gain LTS.

Following @CodeShepherd comment 😎
@thomassandberg IMO you can start with 2.04 and wait for 2.06 in april (end march). The update is really worth the extra waiting time in my opinion 🙂
