Hello,
Is there a way to change the color of the LED bar on CtrlX using REST command?
We are currently having an application that doesn't use the automation app and is mainly running our own developed apps. We would like to change the color of the LED to red (or a different distinguishable color) when our application runs into a fatal error so that if a user looks at the controller they can immediately realize something has gone wrong.
Is this possible? Other suggestions are of course also very welcome.
Thanks,
Lilith

Hello Lilith
it is not possilbe to change the colour of the LED via Rest command.
The better way could be to create a error message at the ctrlX logbook, which will be change the LED. But here we are still in the concept phase.
So currently there is no way to realize your task...

Hello Jochen,
Thanks for your response. As you mentioned, I think it would indeed be better if all apps could use the state machine of the CtrlX to see if there is an error. Hope this feature will be introduced soon.
Cheers,
Lilith

Hello Jochen,
is there now a way to control the LEDs of a ctrlX CORE? Is there also a way to control this LEDs from PLC?
Greetings

Hello Alex
As I wrote before it is not possible to control the LED manual.
But whats possible now (from version 1.18) is to handle diagnostics informations (info, warning, error) of the ctrlX via the PLC (and via REST). And this diagnostics will change the LED status.
How you can do this it is descriped in this post link
Hope this helps
Regards
Jochen

A detailed description about the ctrlX diagnostic system can be found here.
Here you can also find information about the data layer interface of the ctrlX diagnositcs system, which can be used via rest.
