OPC UA Server: parallel sessions limitation

The maximum number of simultaneous sessions can be set in the OPC-UA server configuration.

However, we may have multiple users connecting simultaneously and some of these may open more sessions than expected.
Is it possible to set the maximum number of sessions for a single user?

Hello,

this is a general setting for the server and not a user dependent setting. Therefore it's not possible to limit the max. number of sessions for a single user.

Do you have a special use case in mind or do you have a problem with a certain application/OPC UA client?

Sometimes it happens that in the development of third-party applications that need to communicate with the PLC, an excessive number of sessions are inadvertently created. In this circumstance, problems also arise on the machine automation side, just think of an HMI also interfaced with OPC-UA.

So, I was wondering if there was a possibility to limit the number of sessions per user in order to isolate the problem to the user's own scope.

I understand the idea behind your request and I will discuss it with development, if such a (user dependent) limitation could be possible.

Right now, the session limit is a over-all setting.
