I'd just like to expand on Stefan's reply a bit. If I'm understanding correctly, you're using IndraWorks Ds and want to connect to a drive. You've tried plugging your Ethernet cable from your PC/laptop into the network hub of the machine, which is connected to the Engineering Port (X7E5) on your MLC. You've tried connecting to the drive through the MLC, which is at IP address 192.168.1.8 (on the Engineering Port, X7E5). I believe the issue is that using IndraWorks Ds, you can only connect directly to drives; you can't connect to an MLC or pass a connection through it to the drives. To connect to the drive, you have two options. 1) You need to connect to the Sercos bus/network as Stefan has suggested. 2) If you have IndraWorks Engineering, you can connect to the MLC through the Engineering Port, which will also allow you to interact with the drives if you have the Sercos configuration in your project file.
