Step-by-Step guide
Step 1: Start a new EtherCAT Master project
Open ctrlX CORE user interface in your browser.

Add EtherCAT master by clicking “+” in EtherCAT configuration.

Add EtherCAT Master and give it a name.

Open ctrlX I/O Engineering by clicking on the Name of the Master system.

Open New „crtlx CORE I/O“ project and give it a name.

Step 2: Install the EX260 device description
Download the EtherCAT device description file from the SMC website.

Install the device description in the “Device Repository” chapter in the software.

Step 3: EX260 device configuration in the project
Add device to EtherCAT Master by right-click in the device tree on ethercatmaster.

Choose the relevant device description for your device from device catalog and add it.

The EX260 valve manifold controller is now installed and available.
