I would like to control the OPC UA Client App connect/disconnect from the PLC. I also want to read the client state to verify that the connect/disconnect occured. I have tried various fbs like DL_ReadNode, DL_ReadNodeValue, etc. but the data types are not correct and I get errors. When I try to write, to trigger the connect or disconnect commands, I get an error, 16#0D0A0201 that I cannot find in the documentation: Are there any examples of how to do this? I have seen some other examples in the forum but they are associated with other function blocks that exist, like motion function blocks. How can I read/write objects (they look like JSON objects) in the datalayer from the PLC?

I have the same problems as described above. But some apps are not available for use. In my case, the VPN client and Python app have two problems: 1. No license is recognized, as described above and 2. no app configuration is available in the configuration tree. You can see this behavior with the Python app in the pictures above. Perhaps there is no configuration dialog for the Python app, I'm not as familiar with it but I am fairly certain there should be one for the VPN Client as I have used it before. For the VPN Client app, I am using version 1.14.0 as I did not see one for 1.16.0. So it seems that previous apps have the same problem sometimes.

Thank you for the explanation. Our application does not require the Motion app. We are simply reading the position into the Data Layer for measuring purposes. I will probably try the Oscilloscope app. There is no synchronization in this application. I think it should work for what we need to do. Thanks!

Hi! I'd like to use this encoder with ctrlX CORE. (Dynapar AI25 EtherCAT Absolute Encoder). It appears to use CoE, with either of these protocols: CiA301 or CiA406. Does ctrlX CORE EtherCAT support these protocols? A datasheet is available on the same website as linked above and I was able to import this with no problem. But I'm not sure if that means that it will actually communicate with the CORE. For my application, I need to read the position and velocity (or calculate it manually) and view it with the Oscilloscope app (hopefully). Here is a direct quote from the encoder user manual, also available at the link above: "The ACURO AC58 EtherCAT® meets the requirements defined in the communication profile (CiA 301, reference [3]) and in the device profile for encoders (CiA 406, reference [4]). NOTE! The mentioned documents CiA 301 (reference [3]) and CiA 406 (reference [4]) originate from CAN in Automation e.V. These are not official ETG documents. This is done by the mailbox protocol CoE (CANopen over Ethernet) which is a part of the EtherCAT standard. "

I have AutoCAD Electrical 2020. There is an import function to bring in .stp files as a 2D dwg file. It seems to only bring in one view, for drives, the front view, but not the side view or overhead. The front view is most useful, but occasionally side views are needed or other views are needed for other components. The import is very useful and I was not aware of this feature. Thank you for pointing this out. I have not had the same experience as you describe with the Configurator. Some require an email request and the response is quick. For some email requests, there is no response at all. I will report this through the Configurator contact button as you describe. If older product 2D CAD files (IndraDrives, HMIs, etc.) are available for download, please provide a link. This would be most helpful. I have not found this and I have asked multiple PM people who have explained that the files in the Media Directory are the only resources available for CAD files and only 3D stp files in this case. The older website for CAD files, which had 2D and 3D files, has been shut down, pointing users to the Media Directory. Also, can you post/confirm the email address for requesting CAD files? Is it this one: CAD-Service.BRC@boschrexroth.de ?
