PLC Engineering locks up when logging out

When the Application loses connection to a plc the user can not logout without experiencing a long hang time. This occurs when the connection timeout has not been triggered yet but the communication has already been terminated. (I found this largely because my adapter is on the way out and disconnecting regularly) Seems like a simple timeout needs to be added and it should fix the issue.

Yes, I can confirm your observation. I will have this tracked internally as an issue.

There is a timeout in the situation that leads to this dialog after 30 seconds:

If you don't try to log out in the 30 sec, then you are automatically logged out after confirming the dialog and can continue working; e.g. log in again (necessary twice, as another dialog has to be confirmed).

However, if you press Logout during the 30 seconds until the dialog pops up, you will have to wait another more than a minute for the Logout status to work (until the hourglass and the green “RUN” status display have disappeared).
