In general a file handling is possible but the file system of the ctrlX CORE is not provided by ctrlX CORE - OPC UA server app. For this usecase WebDAV is the protocol to use. See our documentation or also example here in the community.

Could you tell us more about your application? Then we could create possibly a feature to be implemented in the ctrlX CORE.
