XG31 type 1 input filter time for SS1 function

Hello,

we are using an active safety unit in order to activate E-Stop function and to delay STO in order to reach SS1 safety functionality. In the customer safety unit there is no possibility to remove the dynamization of the safety outputs but just to configure them.

So we have to evaluate if the dynamized safety out can interfeer with the E-Stop.

I see in the documentation that the delay of our digital inputs is 100us:

1) Should we consider this delay time? So the test pulse should be less the 100 us?

2)In order to obtain SS1 functionality is it enough to use a standard plc digital ouput or a NC stop given by the control unit? Which PL/SIL can we reach in this case?

3) In case the customer what to use a safety dynamized output with (300 us of test pulse width) should he use 1 or 2 safety relays?

To question 1: No, this needs not to be considered.
To question 2: For these-Stop input a normal PLC output is good enough, for the STO input it must be a dynamized signal.
To question 3: If the customer uses a safe output (normally he then should use a double output) he doesn’t need a relay in between but connects that directly.
