Braking resistor for XME and XMS combination

Hello,

In indradrive -We had combination of HMV-E and HMS with HLB for one of our applications.

Now in ctrlX drive  with XVE and XMS ,how to use/connect HLB with this combination?

Is there any additional hardware like HLB with ctrlX Drive?

Hello Samkarshan V,

At the moment it's not planned to design for the ctrlX DRIVE family also a active bleeder module which we have today for the IndraDrive family (HLB). At IndraDrive we need this HLB because it's not possible to disconnect the drive internal braking resistor and connect an external braking resistor to increase the braking power. In this case a HLB has to be used.

But at all ctrlX DRIVE power units and converters we have the possibility to disconnect the drive internal braking resistor to connect a bigger external braking resistor at the drive. That's the reason why we (normally) do not need a active bleeder module (XLB) for the ctrlX DRIVE family. And we have the possibility to place this external braking resistor outside the cabinet, a active bleeder module (XLB) has to be placed always inside the cabinet , direct at the DC-bus of the drives and we have the complete power loss inside the cabinet.
