trouble connecting to CtrlX core

trouble connecting to CtrlX core

CtrlX works detects the core connected to the Ctrlx Drive demo station, but I cannot connect to it via the ip address(192.168.1.1). The core can be accessed by clicking on the core name, but many of the features of the CtrlX core do not work with this approach(like downloading the PLC program). This is also true of a stand-alone core that I powered up took the initiation class with. What have I done wrong?

Hi @NickC ,

Can you please post some pictures of what you are seeing? The CORE is not necessarily at IP 192.168.1.1. If it is detected in ctrlX Works, you should be able to see the IP address.

The PLC program is downloaded using PLC Engineering.

What exactly are you trying to do?

I am trying to connect to the CtrlX core via "normal" method, as described in the training. It should be as simple as clicking the ip address in the CtrlX Works. When it opens in the web browser, it fails to find a core. I mentioned the PLC, because I was attempting to troubleshoot the drive not responding correctly, and wanted to know what the PLC module was running. That leads to the second photo, which shows the PLC software also being unable to connect to the core. CtrlX PLC does not accept the IPv6 address that does allow me to connect to the core.

This is somewhat new to me, thank you very much for helping.

Are you sure your PC network adapter is on the same subnet (192.168.1.x)?

I did not know that it needed to be configured. To anyone looking at this post in the future, on windows 11 the pathing was Settings -> Network & Internet -> Advanced Network Settings -> (Ethernet Port) -> dropdown ribbon -> More adapter options(edit) -> Internet Protocol Version 4(TCP/IPv4) ->Properties. The default configuration that should work is Ip address 192.168.1.101, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, and leave default gateway blank.

I never would have found that without your help, thank you so much for informing me.
