CtrlX IO drops out when DataLogger connected

I am workign on a project which has an X3, SAFEX C12, ctrlX IO bus coupler+IO, then a Kistler Data Logger last on the EtherCat. 

I can communicate to the C12 and IO with no problems. However, when I add the Kistler unit (using IO works, datalayer update and download) the EtherCat stops working at the ctrlX IO node. If I just have the Kistler unit by itself it works fine. 

What could cause this? What information do I need to provide for someone to help me debug?

Can you try to create a new synchronization unit for Kistle to use.

I made a new synchronisation unit but that did not work. I was able to get it to work by putting the Kistler unit as the first device in the EtherCat daisy chain. This worked with or without a separate synchronisation unit.
