after having gotten online with the customer machine we found more issues. major issue was that the axis stayed at configuration/running mode after cycling the power. never got into running mode even manually changed it to running mode. all of the tasks in the scheduller were running. however it could be changed from partially operating to operating mode and axis into running mode by selecting the operating mode from the top selection window. there are only three CtrlX drives with an standalone core X3. the communication speed has been very slow even from the drive engineering on the customer laptop to the core. it was tested successfuly, but it took long time to search the drive. the customer is wait for support on that to get the machine commissioned and shipped out. any help will be appreciated, specially on the issue of power up won't be in running mode. Hello, one of our customers is in commissioning their machine using a CtrlX core with three CtrlX drives controller by AB plc. the machine is showing the functions, but they have some issues. one of the issues is the core taking longer time to start-up than AB plc. they want to have a hand-shaking signal back to AB PLC to show the core is in operation mode, the drives in OM mode and the motion is ready. the PLC app can check the drive status (P115), but is there a way to confirm all apps are running and ready in the PLC app? sometimes the updates of status are slow. that is another issue. second issue is they got a lot of acceleration/deceleration limits exceeded warning. the set value of accel was 200mm/s^2 and the limit was 10m/s^2. while one axis was stand still and another axis was touching the first one, but the speed was not high. I will have the customer to double check if the accel was actually over the limit. anyway, your help is highly appreciated!

hello, I am trying to use the core in a standard SFK-4H to control other items beyond the SFK, like our EFCs and third party components. one of the third party components gave me some weird issues. the component is SMC Ethernet IP coupler as a slave. I downloaded the EDS file of that part and after installed in device repository as an Ethernet IP slave I could scan it and add into the project. looks everything was working( the bus showed green light on this slave). however when I opened the IO mapping there were only 1 byte in and 1byte out, but the there were showed 4 bytes out and 2 bytes in in the connets tap. see the screens. I don't know why it couldn't show all the process data in the IO Mapping. I then tried to creat a slave as a generic device and configured 4 bytes out and 2 bytes in. it showed an error when getting onlined. based on the error message I copied the the vendor ID and product code into the generic device. it still showed me the same error message. I found out there were using deferent connection pass between using EDS file and set as a generic device, but I wasn't able to change it. here is what it was setup can someone test it out and tell me if there any setup I did wrong? or why didn't the number of IO mapping match the connections setting by using eds file? I need to install more than 8 valves for SMC pneumatic system. see the eds file as attached. Thanks.

Thank you Uwe for the support. I checked the parameters S262, P4090 and P260, and they are all zeros. and there is no write or read of a parameter in the MLC program either. I did experience some issues at the beginning of setting up this demo that the parameters in the MLC were not the same as in the drives after doing a Sercos scan. that caused the communication issue. to resolve this issue I have to manually change the parameters on both sides to make sure they are the same. then the Sercos could be switched to BB. after the communication working the drives were in control from MLC. I don't know if that is an issue only I had experienced or someone else has met similar issues. I don't want a customer meets this type issue if they have the same setup. after having tried to make the parameters the same at both sides I felt that if there is one of a certain range of parameters is not the same between the drive and MLC it may cause a communication issue. I will continue working on it and see if I can find a root cause, or at least find a method of workaround. please see if you can simulate the same situation if you have time. I think we may need to sell this setup before CtrlX products become fully functional.
