Some of the files are simply write protected by the provider of this data. Did you try using WebDAV? You can also down and upload the complete configuration and insert your file. Also via the IDE app files can be managed. For access via own snaps see this topic.

Right 😉! For IoT apps is not always mandatory but with automation apps is always better to keep things aligned and on the actual LTS. you have updated from 1.2 to 2.2 so update anything. if is not a prolem you can consider to flash directly the device so you start clean.
