For certain controllers that have been switched off for a longer period of time (e.g. if they are in storage), the battery discharges and the internal time of the controller is lost if it is not connected to an NTP (Network Time Protocol) server.
Recommendations and measures:
1. If the controller is connected to an NTP server as described in the documentation, a discharged buffer battery has no negative or functional effects. The connection to an external PC can also be used as an NTP server.
2. If no NTP server is available, the invalid certificates or licences can be bypassed via a software update to version RM21.11.6. In this case, the controller continues to operate with the last valid time.
In both cases, replacing the battery is also a temporary solution.
