EDIT: Moved to corresponding forum SDK. By default the data of your snap is not accessible by any other snap on the system. The snaps run in their restrictive security sandbox. To learn more about this you can look at: snapcraft.io - security policy and sandboxing. What is shown in the post you mentioned, is how to connect to a the configuration storage on the ctrlX OS. This is a place where you can store files, if you explicitly want to share a file with the user or another app on the system.

it seems, that it is a bug in the Modbus App and will be fixed probably in the next release. Therefore this can be closed.

Hi Notahacker, unfortunately there is a bug in server, that you can see the detailed diagnosis message regarding failed configuration. This will be will be fixed in the upcoming release of 1.20. In fixed version you will see the following messages: Thus you see the configuration was failed because of wrong endpoint configuration. Concret the issue in configuration are the two "4". Removing this will help: Do you have a idea, how you get this configuration. Did you directly modify the configuration file "opcua_appconfig.cfg"? If not, do you remeber what you did. Thus we can reproduce to fix the issue. Regards, smueller

I updated to release 1.18 and remove the app DeviceBridge and after the problem was solved

Another hint: You can also look into the documentation (section: Working with configurations) to get a general overview on the configuration file storage in ctrlX OS.
