How to update to 1.8.8 on virtual machine of Windows?

The same ways are possible that you also use on a real one:

1. Update the ctrlX CORE - Node-RED App to the latest version. (Beware of the possibility that you have to update your complete virtual control)
2. Connect your ctrlX COREvirtual to the internet and update the node-red-contrib-ctrlx-automation  nodes.

Hello,

if you don't have internet access, you can use the offline import  button which can be found on "Node-RED Hamburger Menu -> Manage Palette -> Import Library" using the ready-to-run package of the ctrlX Nodes node-red-contrib-ctrlx-automation-1.8.8.tgz n attachment. Please let me know after successfull download (please remove the .zip extension) i, so I can delete this from the chat again. Thank you.
